Tiffany Trueblood

Who are you?
Hello! I’m Tiffany Trueblood, Public Relations and Communications Manager at Coweta-Fayette EMC (it’s pronounced Cow-Eat-Uh). I’m a proud Auburn University graduate, holding a B.S. in Agricultural Communications. Outside of work, I wear my “mom hat” as a hockey mom to my youngest son, Tucker, and a JROTC mom to my oldest, Andon. My husband of 25 years is a nurse, and together we manage a lively household that includes two dogs, one cat, a frog and 10 chickens (who thankfully live outside!).

How long have you worked with cooperatives?
I began my cooperative career in Alabama at Central Alabama Electric Cooperative as a Communications Specialist; where I proudly “drank the co-op Kool-Aid.” After more than 17 years there, I made the move to my current co-op in Georgia, where I’ve been for the past two years.

Describe your role.
I consider it an honor to communicate important information to our members, especially on topics that directly impact their daily lives. Whether it’s helping them save money, understand complex issues or engage in programs like Operation Round Up and Youth Tour, my goal is to make information clear, relevant and meaningful. I’m always looking for the most effective ways to reach our audiences (internal and external), while also encouraging my team to push their creative boundaries. That same mindset extends across departments, where I strive to be a creative problem solver—focusing less on “we can’t” and more on “how can we?”

What do you enjoy about working with cooperatives?
Hands down, it’s the people and the genuine concern they have for others. Whether it’s fellow employees, counterparts across the country or our members – co-op people are just wired different – in the best way possible. The co-op heart is a real thing, and I love to be a part of its beat.

When did you join CCA? Why?
I joined in 2024. Within CCA are so many people I know and respect. It’s inspiring to be surrounded by peers who are constantly pushing cooperatives forward. I’m passionate about learning new ideas and approaches to how co-ops communicate, and I truly believe you can never stop learning in this field. CCA offers the opportunity to grow, collaborate and bring fresh perspectives back to my co-op.

Did anything surprise you about CCA upon joining?
That no matter what industry a cooperative is in, we face so many of the same communications challenges.

How has CCA supported you in your career?
The communications contest does make me strive to do my best work and serves as a great boost for the work we do. I also really enjoy the webinars and learning sessions and I always walk away with something which helps me accomplish my goals.

What are your hobbies and interests?
Travel. Give me a time and place, and I’m booking a plane ticket! My goal is to visit all 63 National Parks (I’m at 28 and counting!) and experience the world alongside my family. When I’m not traveling, I enjoy reading, baking, watching Auburn football, NHL and, of course, planning the next trip.

Do you have a “bucket list”? What are some of the things on that list?
I would love to go into a Great White Shark cage! I’m also looking forward to retirement, selling our house and living the van life and traveling the country.

Give us something about yourself that is surprising or that most people don’t know. My family is a “Squatch” Family and love looking for Bigfoot. And while I do love my heels, I’d trade them for boots and a farm in a heartbeat.

What advice would you give to professional communicators just starting their careers?
Don’t be afraid of the F words: Fun, Failure, Flexibility and Feedback.

You need all four to truly grow into your role. You have to fail to succeed. You have to be flexible to navigate the hardest challenges. You need feedback to learn, adjust and improve. And above all, you need to have fun, because that’s where creativity lives. When you embrace all of these, you’re not just doing the job, you’re on the path to becoming a fearless communicator.
