Did you know there’s a co-op for utility communicators? Hello, Ruralite. Megan helps Ruralite members engage consumers effectively in print and online. For five years she created social media support, newsletter articles and graphics as part of NRECA’s Straight Talk team. She blogs regularly on best practices for utility communicators, including tips on navigating the constantly changing social media landscape. She got the co-op bug while working at GreyStone Power, a Georgia distribution co-op. She won CCA’s writer of the year award twice and was honored with CCA’s 2012 Michael Graznak Award.

What you’ll learn:

Your social media channels run on content. But what’s the best (and most affordable) tool for feeding your social feeds? We’ll compare the cost and functionality of Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer and Social Pilot. Go inside each platform to find the right fit for you. We’ll also highlight recent changes to Facebook’s News Feed, with tips for what kind of content has value on today’s feed.

In this session, participants will learn:

  • Weigh cost with functionality across four social media management platforms.
  • Learn which platforms help you add alt-image text for better accessibility.
  • Focus on the type and quantity of content that has value on different social networks.
